Captain G K Sehgal has an extensive academic and professional background, combining a military career with leadership in education and real estate. His educational qualifications include both a postgraduate degree and a degree in law (LLB). During his time in the Indian Army, he completed several specialized courses, such as the Law Course in Shillong, the Tactics and Commando Course in Belgaum, and the Field Engineering Course in Pune.

In 1987, Captain Sehgal founded and continues to manage an educational institute that has guided numerous students into Class I gazetted positions in the civil administration and the Indian Defence Services.

Captain Sehgal is also deeply involved in the real estate sector. He played a pivotal role in founding the Realtors Estate Consultants Association (RECA) in Kolkata, where he initially served as Vice President and later as President. His contributions extended to being a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) India, affiliated with the global NAR (USA).
